The Data Center Workforce Alliance is launching a member-governed pilot that pools employer demand, connects it to training partners, and puts qualified tradespeople to work through Hire the Handshake©. The pilot is in development. We are now identifying founding stakeholders.

Data center construction depends on skilled trades, and the pipeline that produces them has been depleted. Posting more jobs and hiring more recruiters can't place workers who haven't been trained. Employers are competing for the same limited pool, and the gap is widening.
Our Approach
The Alliance is a membership organization led by employers. Instead of each company solving the shortage alone, members share what they need, support the training programs that create new workers, and draw from a trusted pool of qualified people. It follows the same member-governed principle that has sustained employer-owned hiring networks for decades, applied to a labor problem that requires building supply as well as reaching candidates.
How the Pilot Works
Share the demand. Members submit anonymized forecasts of the trades they expect to need, by region and project phase.
Connect to training. The combined forecast goes to apprenticeship programs, colleges and training partners, so they can size cohorts to real demand.
Verify the worker. A common skills, safety and work-history record follows each tradesperson from one member to the next.
Deploy on demand. A vetted, rapid-response bench helps members meet surge needs under shared standards.

In the trades, people hire people they know and trust. Hire the Handshake© builds that into the Alliance. Peer endorsement and verified experience come first, so members can place workers with confidence.
How We'll Measure Success
Members enrolled, forecast headcount collected, training seats created and workers placed. We will publish what we learn.
