Data Center Construction Careers

We connect skilled tradespeople with opportunities in one of the fastest-growing sectors in construction — whether you're looking for steady work close to home or ready to travel to where the projects are.

What the Research Shows

Electricians are the tightest trade, followed by pipefitters, mechanical, HVAC, controls and commissioning, and facilities technicians. Electrical work accounts for 45–70% of a data center build's total cost.

A hyperscale site can have 800–1,400 electricians at peak. That scale is why local labor markets can't staff these builds alone — supporting the "local plus travel" model.

The MEP phase calls for electricians, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, HVAC and controls technicians. Commissioning runs Level 1–5 testing of power and cooling before turnover.

Prior data center experience is not required to land a first job on one of these sites — experienced tradespeople from other sectors are actively recruited.
